A first move into SIL
Newly funded NDIS participants who are ready to move out of home into a setting that supports them. The first weeks are about building confidence and routine in the new place.
Whether the NDIS plan is brand new and they are still at home, or they have lived in supported settings for years, we get to know the person first and the funding second. A short conversation tells both of us a lot.
Most of the people who call our homes home live with a combination of mental health, psychosocial, intellectual, neurological, or complex support needs. Some are taking the big step into Supported Independent Living for the first time after years with family. Others are looking for a fresh start after a living arrangement that was no longer meeting their needs.
What connects them is not their diagnosis, but their need for a place where they feel safe, valued, and genuinely at home. A place where the team stays, familiar faces become trusted relationships, and each day is shaped around the person living it.
The CARE Group & Co. currently supports people across the Coffs Harbour and Western Sydney regions, with new homes planned throughout the broader Mid North Coast and Western Sydney communities. Our goal is simple: to create more places where people can belong, grow, and build a life that feels like their own.
People come to us at different stages of life, but often with the same goal: to live a fuller, more independent, and more connected life. Whether someone is moving into their first home, navigating mental health challenges, living with a neurological condition, building everyday life skills, or requiring complex supports, we take a holistic approach that focuses on the whole person, not just their support needs.

A family carer who has held it together for years and is ready for the next chapter. We meet you both, slowly, with as much time as the move needs.
Someone whose current placement is no longer the right fit, for any number of reasons. We sit with the situation, listen to what is needed, and help work out what comes next.
Someone exiting acute mental health care who needs a calm place to land. We move at the pace the discharge needs, including fast when the timing is tight.
Someone with NDIS funding but no permanent SIL arranged. We have helped people move into a settled home from situations that had become unsafe.
People who carry several conditions and a long history of trying to find the right fit. We talk through the specific picture openly, and give an honest read on whether the home suits.
We know that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming and often comes after a long search for the right fit. That’s why we keep things simple, honest, and focused on the person. If we believe one of our homes and supports would be a good match, we’ll tell you and begin exploring the next steps together. If we don’t think we’re the right fit, we’ll be honest about that too, help point you towards a provider, service, or pathway that may better meet your needs, and explain why. Either way, you’ll leave the conversation with clarity, honest advice, and a clear next step forward.
Our goal isn’t to fill vacancies. Our goal is to help people find the right home, the right support, and the right opportunity to thrive.
“I referred a participant to CARE and they were honest about why the placement wasn’t the right fit for their home. They took the time to explain their reasoning and even recommended another provider they felt would be a better match. A few weeks later, when another participant’s circumstances changed, CARE was the first provider I called. That level of honesty and professionalism is rare.”
We will give you a straight read on fit. The first conversation is the easiest place to start.
